Hello Lighting signs technical cooperation agreement with Hubei University of Arts and Sciences to promote the automotive industry
In order to promote the automotive industry and explore more display technologies in this field, under the leadership of the Department of Physics and Electronics at Hubei University of Arts and Sciences, Hello Lighting has signed a 1 million RMB technology cooperation project with it. This project is based on autonomous driving and explores the functionality and performance of LCD display terminal software and hardware systems for L4 level low-speed autonomous driving application scenarios. The focus is on systematic research in three dimensions: safety, reliability, and interactivity. The project has completed on-board testing on no less than two L4 level low-speed autonomous vehicles (unmanned sanitation vehicles, unmanned shuttle vehicles, unmanned road rollers, etc.), providing scientific basis and technical support for the development of the new generation of intelligent cockpit display systems. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027 and will take 2 years to complete.
With the rapid evolution of autonomous driving technology towards L4 level (highly automated driving), the in vehicle human-machine interaction interface, especially the display terminal, has become one of the core components to ensure driving safety and enhance user experience. This cooperation focuses on the research and development of key technologies of LCD display terminals suitable for high-level autonomous driving scenarios, focusing on tackling its cutting-edge challenges in ultra-high reliability, low delay, wide temperature range adaptability, strong light readability, high integration, and deep integration and interaction with auto drive system.
According to the agreement, Hello Lighting will provide research and development support, experimental platforms, and market orientation based on its advanced manufacturing experience and industrialization capabilities in the fields of LCD display modules and optoelectronic integration. The Department of Physics and Electronics at Hubei University of Arts and Sciences will rely on its profound academic accumulation and scientific research strength in optoelectronic materials, device physics, circuit and system design, signal processing, and other fields to form a special research and development team to undertake core research and development tasks such as key technology theoretical breakthroughs, prototype design, and performance testing and verification. Both parties will adopt a collaborative innovation model of "production, learning, and research" to share research and development achievements and intellectual property, and accelerate the transformation of technology into actual products.
Secretary Wang, the head of the Department of Materials and Electronics at Hubei University of Arts and Sciences, said, "This cooperation with Hello Lighting is an important measure for the college to promote the development of applied scientific research and service industries. We look forward to transforming cutting-edge theoretical research results into innovative technologies that solve practical pain points in the industry through close cooperation with enterprises, and contributing to the development of China's intelligent connected vehicle industry chain
Eric Luo, General Manager of Hello Lighting, said, "stated that L4 level autonomous driving has brought new technological requirements and market opportunities for in vehicle displays. We are delighted to join hands with the excellent team from the Department of Physics and Electronics at Hubei University of Arts and Sciences. The combination of cutting-edge exploration in universities and the engineering and market-oriented experience of our enterprises will surely accelerate the emergence of new display solutions with core competitiveness and meet the future needs of smart travel. This 1 million RMB investment is not only a support for specific projects, but also our firm confidence in long-term technological reserves and school enterprise cooperation models.
This signing marks the establishment of a solid strategic partnership between Hello Lighting and Hubei University of Arts and Sciences in the field of high-end in car display technology. Both parties look forward to this cooperation not only producing technology achievements with industry influence, but also jointly cultivating high-end engineering and technical talents for the future, injecting innovative momentum into the development of China's autonomous driving industry。
